With huge thanks to the awesome team: Rahul, Keely, Helena, Lucas, Octavia, Liam, Kiah, Nathan, Kate, and Magic (our therapy dog!). You can also read what is said below.

To apply for our youth programs, simply fill in this form and we’ll contact you. Or please email us: youthprograms@streat.com.au.

Keely: Hello and welcome to STREAT.

Rahul: We’re going to take you on a short journey to meet some of the incredible faces behind STREAT, our youth programs team.

Keely: STREAT exists to help young people thrive now and into the future. We do this by providing supported work readiness programs for young people aged between 16 and 24, who are facing barriers to employment.

Rahul: We run a range of programs and activities for young people whose primary goal is to work.

Helena: Before you start your journey at STREAT, we welcome you to take a tour of our Collingwood site, where most of our programs occur. We also run information sessions with pizza for you to come and learn about our programs. Here we show you our beautiful cafe, kitchen, bakery, coffee roastery, and youth space.

Lucas: Once we’ve received your application, we’ll organise an intake with you. This will include one of our workers inviting you to come have a chat about your current goals, circumstances, and support needs. This information is then used to make sure that the the program is the right program for you.

Octavia: During the eight weeks of the program, you’ll have weekly one-to-one sessions with your key worker. These are designed to provide you the best support. You’ll have three work experience shifts per week, each for three hours in STREAT’s, hospitality, or horticulture businesses.

Liam: On Tuesdays, we focus on teaching work readiness and life skills to develop a healthy sense of home, work and self. Here you get to hang out with your fellow trainees who are doing the program alongside you. You also gain certifications through our registered training partners, such as the White Card and the RSA.

Kiah: Follow the eight week program, if you’re showing commitment and great attitude, we can help you secure a job with one of our partnered employers. In this paid program we support you for up to nine months with a weekly catch up.

Nathan: Every Friday we run jobs club from 1pm to 3pm, and if you’re between the ages of 15 to 24, you’re welcome to rock up. Here we can support you with things like writing your resume, cover letters, practice interview skills, and it’s a safe space to just come and hang out.

Kate: And this is Magic, STREAT’s therapy dog. She’s the friendliest member of our team. Her job is to get pats and to ensure our learning space is filled with warmth, comfort, and fun. We can’t wait to meet you!
